    too, it's funny how leftists sue states that attempt to better ensure the sanctity of the democratic process with positive ID requirements, but then turn around and try to blame Trump for 'not improving election security'

    Because it's a silly plan. Every state has different people, different codes, different rules/regs, which are fine for state level and lower elections.

    Federal Elections need an over-arching federal system in place that can oversee them all.

    So long as it is mandatory that every citizen is given some kind of voter ID and that there are no barriers to obtain that ID and that it become a crime to engage in any activity that makes it difficult to obtain or prevents easy access to voter ID.

    Fulfill those criteria and I have not problem with voter ID. I like what they did (forgot the country) .. upon voting you dipped finger in indelible ink .. no way to vote twice.

    There should also be a requirement for a paper backup - which some states do not have. Problem solved.

    No, leaving the individual states to figure out their own voter security is a silly plan.

    A comprehensive, freely available Federal Voter ID that is available to all is a reasonable idea.
