I do not think I ever heard anyone argue that the minimum wage actually drags down wages but I can see where you can make an argument. Thinking about it I will say that it probably dies both in that it artificially pushes up thecwages of the very unskilled but I can see where industries could use the minimum wage as a ceiling firvsone classes of jobs. Yet in order to achieve as you say a living wage we would need a strong and sustained economic recovery and to start to manufacture products here. What I would make tax exempt would be the profits from in-USA operations. That would go for any corporation, foreign or domestic. You make it here, there is no tax on the profits.
