Firing Sessions would be a stupid move. It would basically signal all his most fervent supporters in Govt that it doesn't matter how loyal or supportive you are, if Trump finds you expendable, you will be turfed.

I wonder how much time his new FBI Director gets before he fires him also.

When he first appointed Sessions AG, I'll bet all of you righties were praising your orange messiah for making such a brilliant appointment. LOL.

I agree with your sentiment on Trump's one sided view of loyalty,

I think this Sessions "talk" is a political tactic rather than a political strategy. Trump seems to lack strategy, in the grand scheme of things. Trump wants the Russia investigation stopped, but to do so will bring consequences he thinks won't happen, like a Republican House bringing charges of impeachment. He may be right, but only time will tell.

If Trump fires Sessions or gets Sessions to resign, Trump can appoint a new Acting AG as a recess appointment in August, without Senate approval until they return. Since Sessions is recused from all things "Trump campaign" and "Russia investigation," he cannot fire Mueller, and Trump can't fire Mueller directly. But, a new acting AG certainly could… and without consequence, since he/she will vacate the position as soon as Congress returns to session and the Senate reconvenes. At that point, Trump can appoint a new AG and the Senate will move through the approval process, but the Russia investigation would be over and Mueller would be gone. If that happens, then we'll see if the Republicans in the House put party over country, or if they act to impeach.

This is the same kind of thing Nixon tried with the Saturday Night Massacre. We'll see if history repeats itself.

The birther-in-chief is just nostalgic for his reality show days of The Apprentince, despite the fact that since January he has been creating another one.

Kind of sounds like it. If I were a senator, I'd be danged if I would give up my seat to go to work for Trump. Now the Democrats don't like Sessions at all, if Trump fired him that should make them happy as a lark. But like Comey, whom the Dems wanted gone, I would wager they would raise political Hades over Sessions firing. It is the political advantage thing to do. Defend Sessions like they did Comey even though 47 Democratic senators voted not to confirm Sessions. Only Manchin of West Virginia was the lone Democratic senator voting for confirmation.

No wonder the majority of Americans think the Democratic stands for being the anti-Trump Party without standing for anything else. Even 55% of all independents think the Democratic Party stands for nothing of substance, only being the anti-Trump Party.

If the above happens, I, for one, will be writing my first term Republican House Representative, and demanding an impeachment vote.

No surprises here. Trumps not a big fan of establishment politicians, or deep state bureaucrats. If your unwilling, or unable to perform your duties ... you're fired. No apologies, just a fond farewell.

It would be a horrific mistake for President Trump to fire Jeff Sessions.

Sessions was a senior US Senator who gave up that powerful elected position to become A.G. If Trump fires him this will NOT sit well at all with Republicans in the Senator or House of Representatives. While they may bicker in public, US Senators get to know each other quite well and may be very much pals on a personal level nor would members of Congress like the precedent set given Sessions could NOT go back to his Senate seat.

Then again at NO time has Trump indicated he would replace Jeff Sessions and the claims he has are just more fake new lies. He rightly is unhappy that Sesssions recused himself because you don't hire someone expecting the person to turn around and have an excuse to not do their job.

Chances are good this event never occurred. Just like the whole Russian story... made up.

Yeah, I don't even....what is that poster on about? Sessions is more conservative than any president in my lifetime, including Reagan.

Trump attacked Sessions - publicly - in a NY times interview this past weekend, he tweeted two times - publicly - in two days wherein he attacked Sessions, his comms director said this morning - publicly - that the AG should just go away, and the future press secretary said she doesn't think Trump's frustrations with AG will ever go away.

And yet you want to call the story fake news because of this one anonymous source?

    Pathetic.

Exactly. Trump will pay a huge price in support from the GOP leadership and especially the Freedom Caucuss crowd.

It is temporarily convenient to dismiss claims that Trump is thinking about firing sessions as "fake news", but all the signs are there.

Trump has thrown Sessions under the bus and all by destroyed his legitimacy.
