Trump of courses makes policy to get votes.

That is why he fires up his base.

The several trillion dollar deficit increase is not good business, Josephwalker.

The vast majority of that deficit was inherited by Trump from Obama but Trump's economy will start whittling away at that.

"taxrevenues actually increased by $18 billion (5.2%) over the previous year, resulting in the government running a $51-billion surplus".

The Obama increases were attacked by sequestration by both parites.

The Pubs hated it and ended it.

This increase is created by the Trump tax cut bill.

    Trump ain't whittling away anything.

    He is only increasing it.

From their jobs, but if they are not secure enough to spend it then the things they might have bought will just sit in warehouses. If you haven't had a raise in several years you're going to make do or do without and put your money in the bank which then goes to gold or offshore investments

Trump did not even run his own businesses to do that. His casinos benefited a few of his cronies very handsomely in the building of them but lost money and went bankrupt for their actual investors as they had to operate. He is running America the same way and he is going to do the exact same thing to us.

How do these people feel secure and confident enough in the economy ?? How do more people get hired ?? What is the trend in consumer confidence ??

Money in the bank goes where ?? That’s ridiculous.

Who is China losing jobs to ?? BTW most of the manufacturing jobs are “lost” to technology. Production of more by fewer people (increased productivity) is responsible for the increasing standard of living.

His casinos looked great, as they were being built and they profited a few select friends very heavily, but they could not pay for themselves once they opened, they were too lavish and opulent even for gambling casinos

His tariffs will benefit no one but old and outmoded businesses that have only a few things in common. One is that they will be unable to compete with well run and modern foreigners and two is that they will be heavily invested by Trumps's cronies. He will find that much easier to do here as he won't have to adroitly cover his ownership to avoid conflict of interest regulations.

This was Trump's only real skill, covering up his own malfeasance. It's why he's not afraid now, though I think he is beginning to realize this is a far different game than he is used to. The Director of the FBI is a far different sort of man than the Governor of a small state known mainly for moribund resorts and having a city known as the "armpit of the East"

Good article on why Atlantic City casinos went tits up if you are interested in reality more than Trump bashing which I doubt.

China is not using robots to replace American jobs

They are putting their people to work

I didn't see anything in the article which shows that Trump did anything other than what I said. He built the Taj in 1990 at a cost of a billion dollars when the handwritng as to Atlantic City's eventual fate was already on the wall.

You people will make excuses for ANYTHING this ******* does It is that hard to admit that you made a BIG mistake in voting for him?

They certainly have enough of them

The point is to have enough productive work for people to do. You could give people jobs breaking rocks if you were unconcerned about productivity and then you'd have full employment and everybody starving to death. It's called Gross National PRODUCT, not Gross National Jobs

Yet that, Joseph, is not helping the GOP at all, is it?

The US is replacing American workers with technology. The same is happening in China. China is also losing low skilled labor jobs to Bangladesh and Vietnam.

The US manufacturers products using fewer people. We don’t need people moving earth with spoons (that’s an historical reference btw).

The TDS afflicted always end their posts in that manner. There is a semblance of sense and then the derangement is revealed.
