I hadn't complained about taxes. However, any money I send to the government is less money for my wife and I.

 

I'm getting the same amount back, but there are 2 differences. My withholding was $700 less and my child credit disappeared for my now 17 year old. If my youngest was still 16, I would pay $2200 less instead of just $700 less. So yes, I caught a break with the Trump tax cut.

With Trump's tax cuts, I was able to KEEP about $3200 more of my money for the 2018 year and then top that off with the deduction of about $1500 when I filed.

All the paper that entered the system plus government spending is part of GDP.

I still payed $700 less than last year. If my kid had been 1 year younger, I would have saved an extra $1500. Since he turned 17, I lost him for the extra child deduction from last year. Under last year's taxes, I would have had $1000 off of my tax bill.(already accounted for in the $700) Under this year's taxes, I would have had $2000 of my tax bill for a 16 year old, but as a 17 year old I only saved $500 for claiming him as a dependent.

I meant to say "save" $2200. My bad.

 

Thanks. I just drove a 2017 Raptor last weekend. Hard to decide on whether to get the current one, or (probably) to be patient and get the next body style since it’s coming relatively soon.
