45,000 Americans died due to lack of healthcare prior to Obamacare. All those deaths never stopped righties from wanting even less government provided health care.

I wouldn't put too much trust in that reported number.

Oh, by the way, Britain's health care system was endorsed by its Conservative party.

In terms of choice I don't see the issue then. If you're rich you can pay more, skip any queue, pick whatever surgeon you want and Bob's your uncle.

    In fact, Linda's your aunt.

But your selective and misrepresented cherry picking from healthcare in other countries doesn't have anything to do with what any American Democratic politicians might want there. If you want to discuss Democrats, discuss what they actually say and do. Your current argument is the equivalent of "If you want to drive a car, you must want to run people over."

What do you mean we? My health insurance costs me $35 per pay period or $70 per month. When I got my hip replacement it was a $100 co-pay for the hospital.

I have a few questions for the single payer advocates,

    1) What happens to the money the companies "used to" spend on employee health care? It's been part of my compensation package for years.

    2) Where does the money come from for the higher co-pays and deductibles?

    3) In the UK they are short 11,700 doctors and 42,000 nurses because they are under paid, why won't that same thing happen here?

    4) In Canada the wait time for any orthopedic surgery is 38 weeks (9.5 months) from first ortho visit to the operating table. Myself it was from Jan 11th from first GP visit for hip pain to March 21st 10 weeks (2.5 months) then on the operating table. With Medicare for all would I have to wait 9+ months for a hip replacement, if not why?

U.S. 45,000/340,000,000 in population. UK 30,000/63,000,000 population. Must I really do that math for you?

But remember it IS CHEAP. There has to be some minor inconveniences associated with reduced health care costs and universal coverage. What's an extra couple of hours lying on a gurney in the back of an ambulance. You're either very sick or injured it's not like you got a lot else you would be doing. As long as the Ambulance dudes have a good stereo in their rig. Maybe you can have a tailgate party while your kid lies screaming in the back of that ambulance for 8 hours with a broken arm........bring plenty of Brats and Beer.

I still have no idea whom you imagine is advocating the cloning of the NHS for the US.

Can you cite any documented instances of such advocacy?

Stock up on life insurance, this way if socialized medicine kill one's kid, the parents will get a huge payday.

my company gave me a benefit package and I chose how I wanted it spent. If I chose the cheapest insurance I got the rest in my check. If there is no longer any need for private healthcare, I would have expected to see a raise of about 6000 grand a year. They chipped in 9000 of which 3000 was reimbursed by the feds in a tax break. But most likely most companies will only give you 1/2 of what they paid in a benefit.

I am on medicare now, what deductibles? Mine are very reasonable, but Most of the time I go to the VA.

Again, you keep harping on other countries that don't spend 1/2 of what we spend. I bet if they doubled what they spent they would not be waiting lists.

You would likely be wrong in getting more than a few hundred bucks.
