I know plenty of smart people that are 100% sure there is no God.
I know plenty of nice people that are 100% sure there is a God.

Well God gave Moses power and authority to go bust Pharoah's ass, so I'd think Moses knew well enough that there was a God..:)

To know for sure you have to have seen God with your own eyes, shaken his hand, and heard his voice speaking to you.

And there is no way to know there is not a God because you cannot prove a negative.

So if you know then you must have seen and met God like Moses did. Also Peter, James, John, Paul, the other Apostles, and Holy Mary.

Of all of those, Moses was the first, Holy Mary was 2nd, then the others. Paul was last.

IMO respect for Creation and taking great effort not to damage it would be 'way up there.

Less than 1. 1 is too much for me, but I'm not a seer. The existence of god would be for me the most unprobable things, and I put it on the same rank that witchery or the existence of olympian gods.

Since you specified a god, I'm going with 0. As to an unknown god 1, as to a natural force 5.

Funny how you avoid this pearl of wisdom in the other thread.

In specific relation to the Judeo-Christian God I could say “0” on the basis of the inconsistencies across the varying scriptural and doctrinal definitions, descriptions, attributions that I think it’d be impossible for any being to match them all.

In relation to gods/deities in general, I’d be around “1” for the usual “can’t know for certain” type reasoning.

I will only state that to me the entire questions is meaningless. God or no God is a stupid question to me as I just don't care or worry about it either way.

Is the Biblical god real? I'm a confident 0.

    Is there a god or gods? I guess I'm a 0 - 1 here.

Surely you must be at least a little curious about what happens to us when we die?
Jesus said "I was sent to save the world", but if you don't want to be saved he can't save you..;)

Your scale has to go higher than 10.

    What would Moses get?

    Or St. Paul?

Jesus changed his mind. When he returns he will kill all life and destroy the world. They wrote a whole book about it called Revelation.

Good for you mate, that's a start..:)
Jesus said straight out he was an alien with awesome powers-
"I am not of this world ....though you do not believe me, believe the miracles.....(John 8:23,John 10:38 )
and scientists estimate there are thousands of intelligent alien races out there.:)-

"According to Drake, the average of people's best estimates suggests that there are about 10,000 technically advanced civilisations spread across our galaxy"
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/science/space/universe/questions_and_ideas/drake_equation

Jesus said- "I'll tell you things hidden since the creation of the world" (Matt 13:35)
so isn't it a bit unscientific and illogical not to hear him out?
Hey Spock will you listen to an alien visitor?
    "Affirmative, I'm all ears"..

Hinduism and Buddhism were around before Christianity, so their "holy men" were just humans giving their best hunches and guesses and might therefore just as well have been whistling dixie.
But Jesus was the Son of God himself, spot the difference?..:)

Moses and Paul both spoke personally to God and Jesus respectively, so I think they'd place 10 on the scale, ie "there is a God".
How can they go higher than 10?

Nobody can fathom Revelation because it's so rich in imagery, analogy and metaphor, but if you think you've got it all worked out you can start your own cult..:)

From the buddhist point of view, Siddarta Gauthama is the first Bouddha who fully understood and revealed to human the buddhic law, Jesus only get far in the path of the boddhistva without reaching the awakening of a true buddha and the full understanding of the buddhic law who rule all life and human, therefore he teached an imperfect teaching when the buddha teached the supreme teaching. Spot the difference ?
