He did accomplish something. He helped establish gay pride parades. Without people like Milk, we would never have these parades that allow gays to show their gay pride-ness in public.

If he did organize the homosexual parades then that actually is an accomplishment. It isn't stamp-worthy but it is an accomplishment

 

He was a public official murdered by a right-wing homophobe. He is being commemorated for being a victim of irrational hate and bigotry.

So, his accomplishment was that he was murdered? It seems that there are lot more who got murdered and perhaps more deserving than him

We honor DAILY around the country and on BOARDS LIKE THIS men, including THOMAS JEFFERSON who had sex with his slaves (maybe consensual or NOT). Even a 16 year old boy has some say so unlike WOMEN slaves.

That's not what the Post Office says. They say he is being commemorated for being the first openly gay elected official.

 

Jefferson helped accomplish many things that benefited the nation. We honor him for those accomplishments, not for having sex with slaves. Harvey Milk was a member of the City Board of supervisors for 11 months and had sex with boys. .

 

If you are a mentally healthy and well balanced individual, you couldn't care less about these stamps. I can't even remember the last time I actually looked to see what was on a stamp I used.

Now, if you are absolutely obsessed with homosexuality, you won't be able to help starting thread after thread about it.

Perhaps if they were not treated as some especially degenerate form of life by right-wingers, they would not feel the need to defend their place in society.

if he didn't diddle 16 yo children and encourage others to run away, he would be worth celebrating.... but finding moral gay leaders must be hard.
