Perhaps posting a picture of you in your bright red Trump hat would have been easier
than typing all them words. In truth there can never be a lesser of two evils. Only a difference of opinion.

The truth and the answer to the original question are contained in this post. But you will never fully understand the truth because you just admitted you don’t believe it exists.

They aren the ones who are jealous and envious and want the government to do something to satisfy that. The founding fathers believed in property rights and the ability to accumulate wealth and never envisioned the government and tax system as a wealth transfer system to satisfy jealosy and envy.

This is what FDR faced and reacted against, which yielded the largest middle class in the history of the world and less disparity in income between the top and the middle.

Then the democrats helped the republicans in dismantling what FDR put into place, giving us the scheme of globalism, or just the newest scheme to create greater income disparity, in favor of the top, by hollowing out value added jobs in america and sending them to the cheapest labor that could be found.

The GOP did not give us what led to the largest middle class, the DP did. Although more moderate repubs like Ike agreed with much of what FDR did. He said as much when reacting against a relative small conservative group in congress in regards to social security.

Trouble is, the DP, nor many of their voters, are FDR kinda democrats, for they could not care less about working americans, and see them as perhaps...deplorable.

because that isn't what the tax system is for, or what anyone is asking for.

That's just like saying... "I dont understand why anybody would oppose stealing food if they are hungry".

    It's about morality.

You are so wrapped up in class warfare and stealing for the evil rich to give to the victim poor, you are incapable of seeing that your Robin Hood tactics are immoral.

    Justify stealing... no thanks.

Yet, the overwhelming majority of americans enjoy a standard of living that surpasses most people on the planet.

The American dream isnt being filthy rich, its climbing from one class to another, home ownership, putting food on the table, and most importantly, economic opportunity.

    We have all those things.

If that is what you read into my statement then you just do not get it. No the American dream is allowing people to reach for the stars unimpeded by tyranny. When people come to this country it is not because they want free stuff, or a safety net, or because the government will force you to do stuff. No they come because here they have a chance at improving their lives and their kids lives. They can believe what they want, say what they want, and do what they can to pass on something. All of that without the government looking over their shoulders saying "nope you cant do that" or "give me what you have earned so that we can give it to someone else."
In one part you are correct, America is a gamble, there are no guarantees and you could strike it rich with the next great idea, or you could end up on skid row with nothing but two nickles to rub together. It is up to the individual to push past adversity and seize their future success. America offers endless possibility but no promises.

There is a difference between taxes for public goods and seizure of wealth for redistribution.

    Two different topics.

If you knew anything about economics you would know that capital is the lifeblood of a modern economy. Without the money invested that you choose to deride as "not being earned the way working people do" the rest of us would be much, much poorer for it.

How many poor or working class people do you know that ever:

    1) Built a factory employing hundreds or thousands of workers.
    2) Provided financing for a new invention or industry.
    3) Established a scholarship fund that sent hundreds and even thousands of young people on to a higher education
    4) Funded a chariable endowment that benefited millions around the world.

If you can't answer just say so.

I dont see how its coveting to want the insanely rich who hoarde resources to pay their fair share of things.
If your stuck on a deserted isle with someone, and you control 95% of all the food sources on said deserted isle. Should the other guy with 5% just be happy he has 5%, and is only minimally starving while the guy who has 95% eats like a glutton?

"In the 1950s, a typical CEO made 20 times the salary of his or her average worker. Last year, CEO pay at an S&P 500 Index firm soared to an average of 361 times more than the average rank-and-file worker, or pay of $13,940,000 a year, according to an AFL-CIO’s Executive Paywatch news release today.

Despite increasing protests from unions and consumer groups, the average CEO pay climbed 6% last year. Meanwhile, the average production worker earned just $38, 613, according to Executive Paywatch."

Call it stealing if you want, but this pay gap is ridiculous.
    I vote for Robin Hood!

I don't have to know any of them personally. But I'm guessing that history would show that there
are some who started poor. A rich man does not build a factory
or do any of the things you've listed out of the kindness of his heart.
He does them to get rich. I'm guessing his charitable donations are some kind of tax write off.
If he had a choice he would still be paying his employees $3.35 per hour with no benefits and
    a 60 hour week.
Tell me how a factory owner can get rich without poor people to build his factory and work for him?
So then, who's really more important... the rich person or the poor person?

    the rich person.

Because without the capital provided by the rich man, none of that gets done.

And of course the rich man does all those things so they can make money.

But the fact remains they still do it.

You've offered no evidence that the pay gap is unjustified.

The problem is not doctors earning $350,000. Not even small business owners turning over 10 million in sales. The problem is the elite corporate class which routinely colludes with government.

Tit for tat. Corporations get direct subsidies, access to legislators, barriers to market entry, restriction of completion, outright cartels and pure monopolies. Even to write legislation in some cases.

If, for instance, you own the only casino in town, and any competition is punishable by imprisonment - you might not mind paying whatever tax they want. You have a legal monopoly.

In general, thieves are not concerned with paying a cut of your money to have the remainder. After all, they started with nothing.

That applies to both politicians and corporations, so they collude for the benefit of both. Politicians get campaign finance or independent ads which obliterate any honest candidates.

Actually, the ultra rich do not build the factory out of the kindness of their heart, they do not build a factory at all.

Why? because for the ultra rich, the economic incentive is wealth preservation rather than wealth generation. Ever heard the phrase "when you won the game, stop playing"? That's exactly what the ultra-rich do. They do not innovate or generate more wealth, they rather use their power to lobby for reducing inheritance taxes, so the wealth can be preserved in the family for generations, and their offspring can live the opulent life for eternity without lifting a finger. The only jobs those people are creating are for nannies, gardeners and house keepers, just like it was in the times of multigenerational wealth accumulation in Gregorian England: Two class society, the few ultra-rich and a whole bunch of servants. Then, the top 5% held >90% of the wealth. Is this desirable?

Was a Paul or Fiorina supporter. Trump has been a most pleasant surprise though, especially in thoroughly, irrefutably unveiling the gov-edu-union-contractor-grantee-trial lawyer- MSM Complex for the liars and walking, talking fecal matter that they in fact are.

That the Republicans are the "party of the rich" and the Democrats are the "party of workers" is a lie narrative. Only fools morons. Sorry bout that.

    Lol
    Found this on Vocabulary.com.....
    unjustified
Whether it’s unjustified violence, an unjustified complaint, or an unjustified belief,
you can use the word unjustified when something just isn’t right or seems to have no reason behind it.
Don't need proof to consider it "unjustified".

yeah the irony is they think most of these people became this wealthy through hard work

it's who you know and who you can rip off. We're heading for a stock and real estate crash and in this misery is where the extremely wealthy make the most money.

Quoted for emphasis. Their lie-resentment narratives on "the rich" fall apart like toilet paper in the rain.

One of the moronic vestiges of it seen in the thread is that the rich "hoard wealth." What a hilarious joke of ignorance that is. NO money that isn't buried in a mason jar or stuffed in a mattress is capable of being "hoarded."

FFS they need to read something besides their union newsletters for a change. Maybe a section of a Money and Banking textbook that describes the "multiplier."

    https://www.investopedia.com/terms/m/multipliereffect.asp

It's criminal that the gov-edu indoctrination camps purposefully avoid teaching even the raw basics of money, banking, capital markets and innovation, let alone logic and critical thinking.
