Reparations are ridiculous. Jewish slaves built the Egyptian pyramids ... god only knows how many enslaved peoples built the Persian and Roman empires. War and using conquered peoples as slave labor was nearly a universal practice for a really long time. It amazes me that progressives invest so much in trying to relitigate the past.

It makes certain folk feel warm and fuzzy when the helpless peasants are thrown money. It's like entertainment. Speaking of the Romans, their big shots used to love sending peasants into the arena to be eaten by lions - but they loved it more when they could posture benevolence by issuing reprieves for favoured individuals. I can't speak for the younger generation, but when I was growing up it was "common knowledge" among my parents, grand parents and my great grand dad that slavery existed in Africa before the white man showed up and that the European/American slave trade capitalized on this. IMHO, "reparations" can only happen to a relative few black folk in America....proving ancestry that was owned by a particular company that still exists in some form today. Of course this would be after Congress passed the law....and that ain't happening in my life time.

Now one has to wonder if the author of this thread is open to America honoring and reinstating the broken treaties to Native Americans, much less address reparations for the documented travesties done against them.

So you prove black person 'john' had an ancestor 'Jack' who was a slave of the ancestor of 'Owen' who owns land. Owen has to pay John? What if John is a millionaire and Owen poor? Or would the federal government pay John, by taking from Owen? Or would federal government pay John, by taking from Lisa, who had nothing to do with Owen's ancestors owning Jack as a slave, John's ancestor? Does Owen have any blame that his ancestor, who died over over 200 hundred years ago, was a slave owner? Why does Owen, or Lisa have to pay John for anything?

what i'm exposing here is insanity and stupidity.. yes sir. Human kind has done many evils and if we are that stupid as to have every ethnicity, race pay some sort of reparations, for past evils, it would go around and around... ignorance and stupidity, fueled by hate is what i deem reparations to be.

American Indians murdered europeans, their children and scalped their own. American Indians killed each other and took each other's territories before europeans ever stepped foot. American Indians were as bad as any european. American indians didn't own the land, they just happened to be there first. No-one owns land without a way to enforce it... American Indians were no better than europeans.. europeans were just better armed and had more #'s, too bad. No-one owes American Indians anything...

look around, the race which is the best at mixing and integrating with others, is white race. Many more blacks, latinos, asian like to segregate, in their own little ethinic/race groups. They even have TV channels called 'black entertainment television'. Would 'white entertainment television' have a shot of being a channel? lol . Wonder who are more racist, whites or latinos, blacks and asians. The evidence seem to point to non-whites. Heck, BLM is a racist movement.. at its core.
