For nearly two years the Trump-Russia affair has dominated front pages and mired the president's administration in conflict and controversy. But what is it exactly? How did it begin? And what did it find out?

The inquiry, led by widely respected former director of the FBI Robert Mueller, focused on alleged collusion between Mr Trump's 2016 presidential campaign team and Moscow.

But in a summary of its conclusions released by the US attorney general, no evidence of a conspiracy was found.

Actually you do not present any proof of that. But can Trump direct Barr to hold a press conference. As Obama proved with Holder, of course Trump can direct his employee to hold a press conference. But Barr wanted to lay out the way the Mueller report shows no Russian worked hand in hand with trump for election purposes, nor other purposes. The one time the Russians contacted Trump, it was a fiasco and they brushed off the female Russian totally.

 

I have a prediction to make now.

This argument will fester and keep going for the period at least through 2020. It will be the tactic used by Democrats to enact more of their resistance. Resistance is in no way fair. It is not supposed to be fair. Fair would be Democrats accepting the Mueller report with joy. They are extremely distressed that the Mueller report is not being used to impeach Trump. America is not going to treat Democrats well. Recall how they treated Clinton. A lesson for the Democrats is cool those jets. You got a better deal by the Mueller clearing Trump than had Mueller gave proof of guilty by Trump. It backfired on Democrats. Stop pouting.

Our federal government is completely paralyzed. Nothing substantive has come out of Washington in months, no meaningful legislation, no progress on trade deals, nothing from the White House except the border crisis, Trump's wall, and the Mueller Report and is ramifications. There is total chaos.

Putin is pleased. He is quite proud of our President. Trump is doing exactly what Putin wanted him to do.

"I have great confidence in my intelligence people, but I will tell you that President Putin was extremely strong and powerful in his denial today," Trump said during a joint news conference after he spent about two hours in a room alone with Putin, except for a pair of interpreters.

Represented by Robert here, Trump's fans are equally pleased with Trump. They voted for a contemptuous, narcissistic, mindless, completely inexperienced loudmouth because they wanted chaos in Washington. They often admit it by saying that Trump's brainless tweets and statements are designed to torment liberals. That is a shocking admission that proves my point.

Trump is a coward.

On Thursday he cancelled a scheduled press conference and skipped town hours after the Mueller Report was released. Being a coward, he could not face the White House press corps.

So, what does he do? He goes to Florida and goes on a Twitter rant for four days. He would not dare make those comments in front of reporters who would ask damaging questions. So, he goes to his favorite private room at Mar-a-Lago and types away, knowing no one is around to question what he is saying.

What a pathetic little man. Well, he can't stay away from Washington forever. How much longer will he dodge reporters?

 

Can't deal with the real issues, Seth? That makes you no different from other Trump fans. I once respected you.

 

Grand jury testimony and the underlying evidence in the Mueller Report can easily be reviewed by members of Congress with simple request to the appropriate court from the attorney general. Barr not only refuses to do this, but it is expected the DOJ will fight the Congressional subpoena in the courts. The court fight would take months, possibly a year or two.

Barr is supposed to be working for the American people and guarding our Constitution. He is not Trump's lawyer.

Why is it Barr is unwilling to provide the full Mueller Report to the American people's representatives in Congress?

By virtue of his bias and based on his performance so far, which includes lying to the people about the report, the answer is obvious. Barr is attempting to protect Trump.

It is anyone's guess why this proud man decided to degrade himself so badly. He is being so obvious. It is hope that Trump is paying him a lot of money. Barr is earning it. He is sacrificing his self-esteem.

One important revelation the American people became aware of over the last month or so that we should not ignore is............the AG of the US is a bagman for the prez.

Any investigations initiated or actions taken by the DOJ in the future need to be understood in that light.

For all the negative things you could say about the antebellum lawn jockey known as Jeff, and there are plenty, he wouldn't go in to the tank for Don on the Russia investigation like Barr has. So score one for Sessions.

 

All this hostility is about Rod Rossenstein being denied the oportunity to save his own rotten hide, even if the cost was a constitutional crisis? Mr obstruction Rod Rossenstein accusing the president of obstructing Rod's coup? Oh that woulda been the end all, to beat all. You see "hot Rod" standing paralyzed behind Barr? Just learned today from a news report that 80% of the redactions in the Mueller Report was in the section dealing with an alleged conspiracy with the Russian government. Interesting, huh?

Link? I looked all over for a link. There is none on that specific item.

What is equally interesting is that what Congress and we are seeing in the Mueller Report is what Trump's appointee permits us to see. Also, Barr will fight in the courts a Congressional subpoena to see the unredacted version of the Mueller Report.

Why does Barr not want Congress to see the unredacted version?

Isn’t it amazing that the people who were closest to me, by far, and knew the Campaign better than anyone, were never even called to testify before Mueller. The reason is that the 18 Angry Democrats knew they would all say ‘NO COLLUSION’ and only very good things!

Among the advisers and aides who spoke with Mueller was his former White House counsel, Don McGahn, two former White House chiefs of staff, Reince Priebus and John Kelly, A.G. Jeff Sessions, fired NSA mike Flynn, deputy A.G. Rod Rosenstein, White House press secretary Sarah Sanders and former strategist Steve Bannon. Michael Cohen, Trump’s former personal lawyer for ten years, also contributed to the Mueller Report.

Trump is simply lying ... again.

"Nobody disobeys my orders," Trump said during a walkabout on the South Lawn. So, McGahn, Priebus, Kelly, Bannon, Cohen, Flynn, Sessions, and Rosenstein, all testifying under the penalty of perjury, are all lying, and a proven pathological liar strolling on the south lawn is telling the truth?

Okay, well, if you want to believe that, be my guest.

The pure irony is, those who disobeyed his orders saved Trump from the crime of obstruction of justice. If McGahn had Mueller fired, not even the Republicans in the Senate could save Trump.

Trump does not understand that concept. Amazing.
