Jack, typically large building projects that serve the public, state or federal government are paid for by municipal bond holders. Defense spending and other types of government spending is paid for by revenue generated from private companies and individual tax payers.

I made a similar point to you about very large construction projects. They are now often administered by the Army corps of Engineers or GSA. I have worked with both on a number of very large government projects.

An interesting factoid is, throughout the 1980's Saudi Arabia embarked on building two of it's largest cities almost from scratch. They were going to spend several billion dollars and did not have the needed expertise to contract for the scope of what they wanted to build. There were so many private US construction companies bidding on the work that the Saudi's asked for our government to assist them with the contracting. We used the US Army Corps of Engineers to screen and award all US contracts let to the Saudi Government.

i would argue that most don;t bother with visa's......but if they have been entrusted with visa's and overstayed, they should be expelled and must forgo the privelege of ever coming here again.. Republicans or Democrats that want cheap labor should spend a period of time in jail. They defraud Americans of a fair wage.

I have always been for prosecuting employers that hire them. Don't just blame Corporations. Corporations are just groups of people. People violate the law in all types of groups. What about Doctors, Lawyers and politicians, (yes and many progressives) that hire illegal nannys, gardners etc.?
