    that's the rub. rednecks work hard all week and want to relax and have fun at a football game for $500 only to watch some ashole disrespect the country.

    Thats a different story an Army base is a federal installation, an NFL stadium is not. Plus you only have to get out and salute if you are in the military.

    I think this has become personal with the players as it has for Trump. Now I'm tired of millionaire players, billionaire NFL owners and Trump who is himself a billionaire acting and wanting sympathy for the hard working class. These moneyed elitist don't need me whichever side they are on.

    Then don't go to sporting events. Have you ever been to a sporting event live? If so, did you go into the concourse and call everyone buying merchandise, beer, food unamerican for not standing at attention while the local singer was singing the anthem? Did you yell at everyone taking a piss or poop and call them unamerican for doing the same?

    True. It's done out of respect. Plus those in the military and military spouses tend to have a different mindset when it comes to things like the national anthem and the flag. I highly doubt there are very many service members who sit down during the national anthem when they attend sporting events even in civilian attire. Most people kinda wouldn't be in the military if they felt so strongly about an issue that they had a problem standing up for the national anthem...

    listen to what you are saying, because it sounds ridiculous.

    you're telling football fans and season ticket holders who've supported their teams and gone to games for decades that if they don't like it when the players disrespect the country that that's tough and they should just stay home instead.

    No. YOU are saying that by calling for a boycott. If you paid money to watch a local singer sing the national anthem, that's a YOU problem. I on the other hand did NOT pay my money to hear a local singer sing the national anthem. I paid my money to watch a damn football game. If the dude buying a beer or the dude taking a **** doesn't stand while the anthem is being sung, I could care less.

    You have it backwards. Most of the veterans I know support the players' right to protest and despise the stupidly crass remarks of the President.

    I don't give a **** how you feel about this issue. Your feelings will not stop me from watching the NFL, NHL, MLB or NBA on TV or live. If you don't like it, then don't watch it. You sound like the idiots who wanted to ban Howard Stern from having a radio show because they didn't like what he had to say.

    Did you see what Villanueva said today?

    Villanueva says he asked quarterback Ben Roethlisberger if he could be out in front with the captains during the national anthem and they agree to it.

    He says he turned around when the Bears fan flag came in, and looked back to his teammates but the anthem had already started.

    “I made my teammates look bad, and that is my fault only,” Villanueva said.

    The former Army Ranger says he is absolutely okay if teammates kneel or sit during the national anthem.

    He says some players who have been kneeling during anthems have approached him after or before games and thanked him for his service.

    Trump gave voice to what many Americans were already thinking. I'll bet there are a lot of members of congress, governors, state legislators, and mayors all across the nation that were thinking the same thing, but none of them were man enough to voice their true opinion.
