Well goodness. It took this thread 31 postings until you even mention the 'kingdom of God'. http://www.politicalforum.com/1060791283-post31.html So once you mentioned which gospel you were referencing, I was immediately curious as to what you really knew about the subject of which you were talking. So I made inquiry.. and BTW... you did not answer all the questions of that inquiry.

Ah! But they preached varying gospels, so according to what you have stated "They would know what gospel He was talking about because He was preaching it for three and a half years.", then they did in fact preach the gospel and therefore were not preaching a gospel that Jesus did not want them to preach. Yet you insist that there was one special gospel which Jesus wanted them to preach. Which one was it that Jesus referred to in Mark 16?

Are you then suggesting likewise that the Apostles also were deceived because they also preached a different gospel?

So, then what is your excuse?

Have you taken the time to listen to the Holy Spirit?

It would also be wise to listen to the Holy Spirit, for the same reasons.

I also would encourage all to listen to the Holy Spirit......swallow your pride. Yep... great teachings can be found in the book of Proverbs.

My intention was to see what others believed Jesus preached.......that is why I asked what I I asked. I did not want to influence their response one way or the other by interjecting mine before I gave enough time for people to respond to my question. And there is only one gospel mentioned in the Bible that Jesus preached and it is the gospel of the kingdom.

So where are the scriptures to support your claim?

    Can you provide scriptures?

I have no problem changing my understanding in the light of scripture........I have done it before.

Daily. So is it fair to say that you did not listen to what Myles had to say?

I do it all the time.

I am constantly growing spiritual because of that.

Your intention was also deceitful, as you still have not proven that the only gospel Jesus preached was the 'gospel of the kingdom'. Mark 16 clearly shows that Jesus told the disciples to go and preach the gospel to all the world. He (Jesus) did not specify which gospel, and because the disciples went and preached the gospel, then they preached the gospel. My question to still remains: which gospel is THE gospel. If you are suggesting that His disciples preached something that was not in accord to His instructions, then you are not 'rightly dividing the word of truth'. You can't have it both ways.

    http://www.blueletterbible.org/search/translationResults.cfm?Criteria=gospel+of&t=KJV

    See above.

Then 'Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."

Why should I. I can see the results of his influence in the things that you have written.

    That would be highly questionable.

    Because of what?

Nah. Don't bother. just remain self-righteous and arrogant. It seems to be what you're best at.:fart:

I was just curious as to whether you would ever get around to making a point or posting something of substance. Not seein' it...

If you felt deceived that is on you because that was not my intention. People at times take offense when none was intended. And if you think Jesus preached more than one gospel then where are the scriptures stating that? There is no such word in the Bible as gospels only gospel….because there is only one gospel.

All of those (the gospel of Jesus, the gospel of God, the gospel of peace) are the same gospel of the kingdom of God.

    Romans 1:9 (KJV)
    9 For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers;

    Romans 1:16 (KJV)
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

The gospel of the Son/Christ is the gospel of the kingdom…..it was Jesus who first preached it…..it came from Him, via the Father.

    Romans 10:15 (KJV)
15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

    Ephesians 6:15 (KJV)
    15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

The gospel of peace is the gospel of the kingdom…..it is God’s invitation to all into His kingdom. That is why Jesus told them to go out and preach it to all.

Jesus telling a story to illustrate God’s invitation into His kingdom

    Matthew 22:1-15 (ASV)
1 And Jesus answered and spake again in parables unto them, saying,
2 The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a certain king, who made a marriage feast for his son,
3 and sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the marriage feast: and they would not come.
4 Again he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them that are bidden, Behold, I have made ready my dinner; my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come to the marriage feast.
    5 But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his own farm, another to his merchandise;
6 and the rest laid hold on his servants, and treated them shamefully, and killed them.
7 But the king was wroth; and he sent his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned their city.
8 Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they that were bidden were not worthy.
9 Go ye therefore unto the partings of the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage feast.
10 And those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was filled with guests.
11 But when the king came in to behold the guests, he saw there a man who had not on a wedding-garment:
12 and he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding-garment? And he was speechless.
13 Then the king said to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and cast him out into the outer darkness; there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.
14 For many are called, but few chosen.
15 Then went the Pharisees, and took counsel how they might ensnare him in his talk.

    Romans 15:16 (KJV)
16 That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost.

The gospel of God is the gospel of the kingdom…..it originated from God……it is His gospel.

    Galatians 2:7 (KJV)
    7 But contrariwise, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed unto me, as the gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter;

The New King James Version makes it a little clearer than the King James Version.

    Galatians 2:7 (NKJV)
7 But on the contrary, when they saw that the gospel for the uncircumcised had been committed to me, as the gospel for the circumcised was to Peter.

What Galatians 2:7 is saying is that Paul was commissioned by Jesus to preach the gospel of the kingdom to Gentiles, and the others were given the same gospel to preach to the Jews…..the same message but to different people.

    Ephesians 1:13 (KJV)
13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

Paul is saying they believed the gospel of the kingdom when it was preached to them…..Paul was doing just as the others before him was commanded to do.

    Mark 16:15-16 (ASV)
15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to the whole creation.
16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that disbelieveth shall be condemned
    .

    Acts 20:24 (KJV)
24 But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

The gospel of grace is the gospel of the kingdom…..no one enters the kingdom of God because they deserve it……it is by God’s invitation. That was what the parables (Mathew 22:1-15) that Jesus told showed.

    I do that.

What do you think a Galtians would do? Would they come to a conclusion without finding out for themselves?

    Acts 17:11 (ASV)
11 Now these were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of the mind, examining the Scriptures daily, whether these things were so.

Those in Thessalonica would reason the way you do......I don't have to, I already heard report about from others.....why do I need to see for myself?

Anyway, it’s your loss not mine. Myles Munroe did not convince me about what the gospel is, I learnt about it over 30 years ago by another man, whom is now long since dead. Mr. Armstrong was the first and only man that I have ever heard that preach the gospel of the kingdom of God. One can say whatever they want about him, but at least he was right about the message that we should be telling the world, and that is the same message that Jesus preached. He preached it to kings, Presidents, Prime ministers and other world leaders. He was the only one back then that spoke about Jesus coming back to set up the kingdom of God on the Earth....everybody else was preaching about going to Heaven when Jesus returns. He was far from perfect as we all are, but I am thankful to God that He used Him to enlighten me about the real gospel.

I can live with that.....after all, its only your opinion……judging wrongfully of course, but it’s still only an opinion.

I grow spiritually because I allow the Spirit of God to guide me.......I don't resist something just because it’s new to me. I search the scriptures and if what is being said is supported in the Bible, then I change my belief to fit what the scripture says. The Bible says, grow in grace and in knowledge…one cannot grow if they believe they already have a full understanding of what they think they believe.

Seriously, this guy's whack. This became obvious when he came off with his whole "THE Kingdom of God" thing. Hello, he's thinking he understands the emphasis of a word that doesn't even actually exist in the book he's quoting. Hello. Old English. Latin. Ancient Greek. Ancient Hebrew - which had NO punctuation or even vowels.

Yeah, he's a scholar. Probably spent a lot of warm and cozy time with the Codex Sinaiaticus, eh? The vulgate maybe?
    Neither?
    Obviously.

I don't really believe that I am the only one who has detected some flaws in your presentation.

Then why is "the gospel of the kingdom of God" listed separately from those others? Your explanation should prove to be most interesting.

Nice private interpretations, but that is what they are 'private interpretations' else known as "opinion".

And this flaw as you call it means that I deliberately set out to offend you....it that what you believe? But truth has nothing to do with how many people on ones side that believe the same thing.......the Bible clearly shows that the majority are always the ones that are in error. The few are always the ones that are ridiculed by the majority.

It’s not listed separately. It would be separate if the gospel of the kingdom of God was mentioned with the gospel of Christ, the gospel of God and so on in the same verse…..the same thing or a person can have more than one name…..the Bible shows this.

But you still have not provided one scripture that say the gospels. How come the word gospels is not in the Bible if there is more than one?

Did I say 'offend'? I did not. Yet you now commit another act of deception by replacing my stated reason of 'deceiving' to that of 'offended'. The casual reader of that paragraph above might not have caught that subtle little misrepresentation or deception....

Now with that stated, marking the hallmark of your intentions, there is no need for me to address anything further that you have published.

That was an honest error…..the word that I should have used is deceive instead of offend. But it seems as if you are very quick to accuse and assign evil intent. Do you believe you can read minds? Did not Jesus tell us not to judge?

In other words, you cannot find a single scripture with the word gospels is used because there are none. There is only one gospel, friend. And it is the gospel of the kingdom....the same one that Jesus preached and which all the apostles preached. One day you will come to see it.

That does not mean you know what it is.....it only means that you believed what they told you what it is. What they taught you may or may not be the truth, but going to a Christian college does not automatically mean that what is taught their is always Biblically based. Spiritual knowledge comes from God via His Spirit, so one does not have to go to a Christian College to understand spiritual truth. A lot of colleges are basically institutions of indoctrination.

Sigh. you asked if i knew what jesus said and taught IN THE BIBLE. I studied THE BIBLE. therefore reason dictates i know what he teaches. actually i have studied the bible my whole entire life. is there a point or are you just trying to say that nobody knows anything because they don't have God's spirit?

The Pharisees studied the scriptures (the Old Testament- Torah) so they thought they knew it, but they failed to recognize the Messiah, though He was right in front of them. But if you believe you know what message Jesus taught, go ahead....what do you believe it is was His message? But be careful.....don't take one scripture and use that to make it seem as if that was His main message.....most Christians have a habit of doing that.

It was God's plan that the Pharisees acted that way. They did as planned. And its simple. it can be summed up in ONE word. LOVE! We love because he first loved us.

Love is the way of life of citizen of the kingdom of God but it is not the gospel.....it's not what Jesus said is the gospel. The gospel has to do with the kingdom/government of God......the re-establishment of His government on the Earth. The reason why so many Christians do not know what the gospel is, is because they have cast it away and have taken up a false message/belief in its place. The false message is the belief that Heaven is where they will live when Jesus returns. You can't believe that Jesus is coming back to fully set up the kingdom of God on the Earth, and at the same time believe the saints are going to live in Heaven.....the two are not compatible.

uh yes... the bible does clearly state that God will eventually reclaim earth and earth will become heaven. but thats not the "gospel". thats another part of the bible. The word gospel means "good news" and it is ALL about love.

No mind reading. Just word reading. You wrote the words and the words that proceeds from your mouth (fingers in this case) are the fullness of the heart. You say it was an honest mistake, yet you are so intent on proving someone to be subordinate to you that you cannot even control what your mind tells your body to publish. I have assigned no evil intent. That assignment was voluntarily set forth by your own being and your own actions.

And now you want to do the bait and switch routine. Previously we were talking about a single gospel... the one you called "the gospel of the kingdom of God", yet the scriptures also point out other gospels, and you conveniently tried to assign them all under the same title of 'gospel of the kingdom of God'. Now because I show, by means of scripture that there are in fact more than one 'gospel', you suddenly decide a requirement to find a scripture which iterates the word "gospels". Nice try.. but truly transparent.. a very poor method for you to use in trying to deceive. Stick with the topic which was "the gospel". While you are doing that, you might also attempt another try at explaining why there are other gospel titles mentioned in contrast to 'the gospel of the kingdom of God'.

Have you read one of the parables that Jesus told to ilustarte what the kingdom of God is like about the noble man that went to a far Country to recieve a kingdom, and to return who gave his servants various money to invest, and will reward his servants with rulership over cities based on how well they did on the money that were to invest?

    Matthew 25:1-30 (ASV)
1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, who took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
2 And five of them were foolish, and five were wise.
3 For the foolish, when they took their lamps, took no oil with them:
4 but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
5 Now while the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.
6 But at midnight there is a cry, Behold, the bridegroom! Come ye forth to meet him.
7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are going out.
9 But the wise answered, saying, Peradventure there will not be enough for us and you: go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.
10 And while they went away to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage feast: and the door was shut.
11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.
12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.
13 Watch therefore, for ye know not the day nor the hour.
14 For it is as when a man, going into another country, called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.
15 And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one; to each according to his several ability; and he went on his journey.
16 Straightway he that received the five talents went and traded with them, and made other five talents.
17 In like manner he also that received the two gained other two.
18 But he that received the one went away and digged in the earth, and hid his lord's money.
19 Now after a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and maketh a reckoning with them.
20 And he that received the five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: lo, I have gained other five talents.
21 His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will set thee over many things; enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
22 And he also that received the two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: lo, I have gained other two talents.
23 His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will set thee over many things; enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
    24 And he also that had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art a hard man, reaping where thou didst not sow, and gathering where thou didst not scatter;
25 and I was afraid, and went away and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, thou hast thine own.
    26 But his lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I did not scatter;
27 thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the bankers, and at my coming I should have received back mine own with interest.
28 Take ye away therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him that hath the ten talents.
29 For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not, even that which he hath shall be taken away.
30 And cast ye out the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness: there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.

One can preach love and still be completely ignorant of the fact that Jesus is coming back to reward us with authority over Nations and kingdoms. Because the gospel is the only message that is about the kingdom of God and God/Jesus rewarding those among us who used the spiritual gifts that He gave us, according to how well we used those gift, with ruler ship in His kingdom.

If you are among those who believe that Heaven is where you are going to live then you have believed a false gospel.

Tell you what? I had put you on my ignore list because you made statements that were false about me, but I wanted to be fair so I removed you from this list. But I see that you have not changed one bit so I am putting you back on that list.

Bye....I made my point so I am not going waste any more time endlessly trying to convince you against what you believe about me and my intention.....believe what you want.....I will keep on living and doing what I do.

The point that I was making is that studying the Bible does not automatically mean one will understand it.......it’s not only the Pharisees that did understand the Bible......even some pastors and evangelist don't understand it and are leading many astray from the truth. Remember, Jesus said many would come in His name and deceive others but Jesus said do not listen to them. Today, Church goers are quicker to read other people's books but don't want study the Bible......they refuse to listen to Jesus.

Well I've read the whole thread, and you haven't said anything "concrete" yet. I looked up myles munroe, and he's a flake. Maybe I'm just too stupid to get it, I mean you are the divine conduit..............right?

You've posted over and over again here and really, made no point at all. You talk about "THE Gospel" that Jesus preached as if there is something unique or esoteric you know about his preaching, that no one else does. But you have yet to clarify what this supposedly is.
You have made no point. You have not provided anything to support what you hint at.
So what specifically is it that you are saying He taught that "all those OTHER" Christians are so wrong about?

Show me with scripture where I am in error.

Anybody can name-call, but can you refute what he has said other than giving your opinion?
