No. When blacks claim to be african americans they are merely referring to where their ancestors came from. Just like white americans who claim to be German Americans and Italian Americans. See Black people have a really hard time trying to trace which african nation they're ancestors were from on account of the fact they were slaves. Familiar with the story at all?

No it means that I have a thing about bigots who weasel their position.

No you define yourself by it and therefore everything and everyone else by it as well. Its that whole human nature thing.

I am astounded that conservatives aren't liberals.

I believe that that there is a physical definition of gender and there is a psychological definition of gender and that there individuals where these two definitions are not the same.

    I did not.

The only thing "ham handed" was TRUMP deciding to pick a fight. What happened over the weekend was a protest against TRUMP race agitating. Threw out red meat and then doubled down with the "ol' look at me, what a great patriotic president I am" attacks on the very people protesting his stupid remarks in the first place. Brilliant since both sides seem to fall for it hook line and stinker.

Standing up for two minutes at an over-priced sporting event before waving a foam finger and spilling beer everywhere is not standing up for anyone in any meaningful way. I personally think they should stand just as a matter of respect, but at the end of the day, it doesn't really matter.

I always stand and show respect for the flag and the anthem. Always have, always will. Who the president is doesn't make a bit of difference, wars, politics ... nothing makes a difference enough that I would disrespect our flag or the anthem.

No matter what country I have visited, when their national anthem is played or sung, I stand as a part of protocol all Americans are supposed to do. However, I will not bow or kneel before any of their monarchy or leaders while Democrats are known to deceitfully bow and scrape before them.

Kaepernick is football poison, and everyone with common sense knows it.

Exactly what it's about. Last week players were kneeling in support of Kaepernick, alleging NFL owners were racist ... that fell on deaf ears, no one bought it. Enter Trump ... now (D) legislators and MSM are behind the players 110% ...

If they feel sooo strongly about the issue stage a "walk out" ... Refuse to entertain those who are oppressing your peers. Frauds.

Those athletes consider it their home, too. They just know it can be better. I don't understand why all these people are upset over a group of people who want to call attention to aspects of American culture that can still be improved. They don't want to hear about that, instead they want to idolize a song and a flag. The song and the flag are symbols of an ideal, and that ideal is broken - but Trump wants to make this about song and flag worship.

Perhaps it is all due to a disinterest of infusing the matter of politics into sports. The public enjoys sports due to the entertainment factor, not the political motivations of the players.

Of course it can be better. Patriots can take a bit of criticism without falling apart. People stood for the flag and the national anthem when Jim Crow was in full swing and the KKK was in its hayday.

The KKK haydays had to be when it was 10 million strong between 1900 through the 1930's when most of the Klan was north of the Mason Dixon Line and were very political and became the militant arm of the Democrat party.

During WW ll that Klan died out because all of the Klan members were either killing Nazis in Europe or killing Japs in the Pacific.

So the Democrat party needed a new militant arm of the Democrat party and went with union goons, union thugs.

By 2010 President Obama and the DNZ weren't very happy with the performance of the union thugs so Obama threw them under the bus and went with a new militant arm of the Democrat party...Antifa, A*N*S*SW*E*R* Coalition, PLS, WWP and of course financed by the DNC and George Soros.

I think the major reason the other players started to kneel, is to try to recover Kaepernick and not act petulant over black causes.

How could owners keep Colin out when the rest of the team also kneels. Colin's problem however is not easy to fix. He turns not not to be a very good quarterback.

Last evening, on the local ABC news, finally they had the guts to call Antifa terrorists or words to that effect. I was shocked. Normally their news presents Antifa as these cool protesters who hate racists. They dude they talked to says violence is needed at events. That to me is terrorism.

They have pattern of being whom the cops arrest.

I forget which news outlet it was but on the day of President Trump's inauguration one news reporter was interviewing one of the Antifa members who was in D.C. to interrupt the Presidential inauguration. The Antifa terrorist said "I don't like this protest, there isn't enough property damage."

    Those were his exact words.

Are the players not citizens like the rest of us? Most of us have some vocation other than politician, but we're still entitled to our political opinions and the freedom to share them. If people are so upset about these protests, why not try to understand the problem better rather than simply telling them to knock it off?

You act as if I could just choose to define myself. I don't and neither do you. I was born in the US speak English as my native language. I was subject to certain influences and not to others. All I am doing is recognizing the truth of my birth and upbringing. I cannot change who I am any more than I change change the place of my birth or who my parents are.

It was ham handed to give Trump such a brilliant opportunity. It was hardly ham handed for Trump to take advantage of it.

Oh, is that what they are trying to say?

Perhaps they should protest police brutality the same way their friends and neighbors do by looting liquor stores and setting cars on fire.

That way no one could question their patriotism.

Such is not relevant. These individuals are employed for the sole and exclusive purpose of entertaining others with their physical prowess, not expressing their political opinions about a longstanding matter that others are already addressing and protesting.

And political protest can still cost you your employment as a result.

The apparent problem is understood quite adequately and readily as it is, without need of being repeated by athletes exploiting the fact they are subject to television coverage. The lack of apparent interest by the public is because the public at large has simply concluded that it is not important enough to warrant address.
