That doesn't change the fact, as far as i have seen. He has not recieved anything from Ukraine and therefore has not violated the emoluments clause.

 

Isn't that standard practice for any President. I thought they followed them literally everywhere no matter who's property at no expense. I imagined if Carter visited his home in Georgia with that peanut farm, they followed him to protect him and the same was true of all our Presidents.

 

Lets see. The Speaker of the House refers possible ideas for legislation to the committee she sees has having jurisdiction without any floor vote precipitating her authority to refer legislation. The committee rules govern the procedures under which the process by which the committee starts, including invitations to testify and documents gathered and put in the record and , brainstorming sessions in which all sorts of ideas are bandied about on what to include in prospective legislation and then a work up session is scheduled where proposed language is presented to the committee either by staff, or committee members for votes. The work product is then schedule for committee debate and a vote to move the bill to the House floor for consideration. The Speaker then puts the bill on the calender for that vote.

Its a good system and I am glad this speaker is retaining for impeachment inquiry.

Sounds like an impeachment in search of a crime, instead of a crime in need of an impeachment.

 

They have accommodations but they don't cost $1000 per person per night. The Clinton's built a cottage for them on their property.. Trump is screwing the taxpayers and all the money goes to Mara Lago and other golf courses .. Now he wants to host G7.. That will be a $20 million dollar week end and will break the city of Palm Beach.

This is political in nature its not so much that Trump is a threat to mankind its more Democrats want to win 2020. So if your a Democrat politician you want this to go pretty slow

Impeachment should be reserved for somebody who is a current threat to national security (as one primary criteria), and thus should happen quickly... It's not to be used to attempt to solve political problems, like it was in 1998...

My view of this impeachment stunt is I don't think it was wise of Trump to say what he did, but in no way is it worthy of removal from office. You don't get to do that because a duly elected POTUS enacts policies you disagree with. I assume Democrats also didn't approve of Bill Clinton's perjury or obstruction of justice, but also didn't think it warranted removal from office.

 

Absolutely nobody is going to subscribe to that complete misstatement of what is going on here, ya know...

If you call what he did a "policy", you are sadly mistaken...

Pulling out of Syria and abandoning allies is a policy I disagree with... nobody is talking impeachment over that (25th amendment maybe)

Democrats have been talking impeachment since Day 1 because of Trump's policies. And on Ukraine, there is no proven QPQ other than Biden's.

If this does go to the Senate, I predict there will be hundreds of thousands of Trump supporters protesting by the Capitol Building who feel they're in danger of being disenfranchised, heck he just got 80K at his Dallas rally. You will also be setting a dangerous precedent that will come back to bite you like Harry Reid's nuclear option did him. The next Dem president will also be facing impeachment talk from Day 1.
