In the audio you can hear the police yelling "drop it" several times.

I did it was fast but the situation called for it.

They were chasing somebody that had been told was the perp, the subject was attempting to enter a home window, the subject did have something in his hand.

It was fast but if it had been the perp and it had been a handgun then waiting could have meant an officer killed.

TMK there is no "wait 5 Mississippis before firing" rule with police.

So its just one of those situations where they made a judgement call with the information that was available and even though it resulted in a death it was still the right call.

The defense is so reasonable here that a DA would know that there wouldn't be a conviction and thus there should never be a trial.

Now the Cali AG on the other hand, that bigot would run these offices through a trial just to hype the anti-cop rhetoric around election time.

My bet: The Cali AG forces a trial and sets it for September/October of this year.

You don't think there will be riots?

Sharpton on scene, BLM reboot, California, the AG already making hype.

You don't think there will be riots?

    I do.

Yea my only comment about that staged scene was the fact it was a staged scene.

When Sharpton shows up, its manufactured.

Sharpton don't get out of bed for less than a full blown riot.

And the bigotry in question is when people overlook the facts and instantly hop on a "lets hate cops because its trendy" bandwagon.

That shooting was as justified as it was unfortunate.

Demand the city compensate the family, but don't try to put two cops in prison for life.

Those officers acted on information about a perp in the area breaking into homes, they were told the man ran to that location, they found a man attempting to enter a home, the man had something gun-like in his hand, it was dark, reaction time, it sucks but its not manslaughter.

And btw "shot 20 times" is nothing.

Real life isn't some action movie where you BOOM HEADSHOT a single round from the hip and instantly stop shooting because the camera has to zoom in on your face as you make a thousand yard stare.

Proper procedure: fire upon the target until the target is believed to be neutralized and then proceed to restrain target as if it weren't neutralized.

I watched the video and it amazes me how people see things so differently.
Why was he running thru yards and hopping fences? Was he the guy they were looking for (the helicopter thought so). What did he do? If I remember correctly he was looking in car windows and trying to get into cars (hardly a "deadly force" crime). The point is I think he was guilty of something but.......the police shot WAY too fast. They also knew they f***ed up when they turned him over and saw the phone.
    A bad situation all around.

No that don't have to do that, their lawyers will just stack the jury with 12 people like you and they are guaranteed to walk.

Worried about a tyrannical government? Start with the police murdering unarmed civilians...

You are seriously ****ed in the head if you think running from the police warrants you to be dead. I mean just think about it for a minute.

They were worried about something in his hand right? A gun maybe? Everything comes full circle. People worrying about everyone having guns so everyone should have guns then being shot because someone thought he had a gun but didn't have a gun, but it was possible he did. Good luck being a cop in today's gun rich culture your ****ed.

Simple as that really. Sometimes in a world of overthinking, the simplest answer is the correct one.

The officers did not identify themselves. He would not have been able to see that they were officers as he would have been blinded by the officers torches and would not have been able to see their guns. And did they even see anything in his hand until after he was shot? And he already had his phone in his hand before they got there so no reaching involved.

I understand there is sometimes a scared cop who want to shoot without fully understanding the situation but why did they shoot 20 times?

You know how to avoid getting shot?

    Stop being a criminal.

It has a large success rate.

He didn't "REACH" for anything. He already had it in his hand.

Thats how they are trained. If your partner fires a shot, you better be firing as well. Keep firing until the threat is neutralized. Why does it matter how many shots were fired? Does that make him deaderer???

If a normal person did it, it could look like a heated or emotional act.

irrelevant. He was unarmed, and over 30 ft away from the officer when he was shot. There life was in no way endangered by this man. If any private citizen with a CCW had shot an unarmed person holding a cell phone, they would be doing 20-life. Cops need to have the same rules when it comes to the use of lethal force. Just claiming "I feared for my life" isn't good enough for a private citizen. It damn sure shouldn't be good enough for the government.
