    Can't help but notice...

The Republican seems to be headed off somewhere, as if he has responsibilities.

The Democrat appears to stand around stupidly, waiting for something to happen.

    I'm literally lmao!

You know on the 50th anniversary of Gettysburg the veterans recreated Picket's Charge. This time the aging Union veterans could simply not contain themselves and leapt out of their positions as the Confederates approached, not in the fury of battle but in friendship, to greet their fellow Americans. Maybe that is the same attitude you should adopt?

Mitch doesn't have anything to worry about, he is a right wing MAGA man. I mean do you really think they care if he took a photo with a Confederate Flag. Seriously.

I'm all for putting the race card to bed. No one should resign over things that happened years ago.

    Agreed.

However, with race continuing to be a political tool used by the left to hide their support for illegal aliens and other policies that harm Blacks, events like the Super Social Justice Bowl will keep the fires stoked.

True, but that's not a problem for me.... It's a little hypocritical, but that part of the country celebrates that and I know why they do... Anybody who doesn't recognize that posing in front of a confederate flag in the 1990's could be seen as an issue is willfully ducking the issue.

More Americans were killed by those who adhered to that flag than by those who adhered to the Swastika flag. Imagine if some one posed gleefully in front of the latter. People would be greatly enraged and understandably so.

But if posing in front of Dixie flag and its racist treason is acceptable then posing in black face should be equally so. As always, let's apply a uniform standard of conduct for all. That's what I'm calling for.

I hear what you are saying, but I disagree with your stating that the 2 photos should be treated as equal.... I'm obviously for a "uniform standard of conduct" (which will never exist).

IF it was Northam in the picture or it if could be somehow proven he bought a copy of the yearbook, implying foreknowledge, I'd be leading the charge for removal.... No excuses there... I may be in the minority, but I am willing to buy his explanation from Saturday that neither is true. Which leads to the problem of the early statement of admission he was in the picture, which appears politically moronic now, but I can also overlook as a gutshot panic move...

To McConnell... although in 2019, that picture inflames many people, it just wasn't a suicide move in the 90's in Kentucky, especially from the south. I'm from the south, and I don't begrudge anybody who still supports their heritage from the Civil War times, as long as it still appears to be pro-heritage and not pro-slavery or anti-black etc.. I don't personally subscribe to that way of thinking, but I can understand it and not condemn it. I also realize it's very hard to tell the difference, so I let actions speak over words and pictures. McConnell, to my knowledge, has never DONE anything to indicate he's not a decent man in that regard (although a HORRIBLE Senate leader and Bad American)

The final point is that McConnell's aide is mentioned as saying McConnell wouldn't do that pose again today, so he's aware of the optics here, but he doesn't need to apologize for it back them.

We are all just too sensitive to minor transgressions that occurred many many years ago...

    Nevermind

I believe that together we can make America great again,” said Clinton is his 1991 presidential announcement speech. In a campaign stop almost a year later, he called on voters “to make America great again economically, educationally, and socially."
    https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2016-election/make-america-great-again-who-said-it-first-n645716

It was used by Reagan then Clinton then Cruz and Finally Trump.. Trump actually ripped it off but now its racist so its only him using it or something like that.. Even Clinton called it a "dog whistle" so i guess he was racist when he used it..
