When people burn or otherwise disrespect the American flag the left says it's just a piece of cloth, but when they see a confederate flag it's hair on fire time even though it's been around for a long time and no one gave a hoot until they were told to be offended by it, and they promptly and obediently complied.

Mexico is corrupt, brutally violent and treats their people so poorly that many of them risk their lives to come here, yet no one on the left complains about Mexican flags.

Cuba imprisons people for practically no reason at all, they've executed people for whatever reason they wanted, yet a high school student can wear the Cuban flag and no one on the left complains.

I won't even mention the Che Guevara tee shirts or the leftist groups who wave the communist flag of Russia around.

What it all comes down to is the left were told to hate something they've never previously had a problem with.

My personal feelings on blackface (or any color face other than your own) is complicated, but at the end of the day, I suppose it really doesn't matter to me long term, but I'm also a white man. I know that's not the "party line" of most including Dem's, but I suspect many feel the same way. There have been times over the recent years that many have been slammed (Ted Danson??) for doing it, but he's still a successful (ehh) working actor.

This belongs in the Northam thread(s), but that brings up the Michael Jackson self admission. Strangely, since it's politically terrible to tell the truth, I feel he told the truth and I don't want to slay him for that. Is putting some shoe polish on your face to "be" Michael Jackson in 1984 in a dance contest a horrible thing?? I personally don't think so... It may sound terrible today, but in context, it might have actually looked worse (stick with me here) for a white man to try and dance like Michael WITHOUT a nod to his race.... That sounded better in my head than it looks on my screen, but I'm not going to delete it.
