Only applicable for those who believe that wages are a stagnant pool.

If you want more of it, you make yourself worth more.

Hm. So maybe we should repeal minimum wage entirely, and then I'll open a store and hire homeless people for $2/hr.

Heck, let's get rid of child labor laws and I'll hire kids at $1/hr.

And you can tip my employees to help them make ends meet while I fill my pockets.

only a person that doesn't know the truth would believe that

the fact is, as more mega corps ship jobs overseas and more consumers buy goods from overseas, the poorer a nation we will become

Not necessarily. Demand for particular items will create the rise and fall of retailers. It does not necessarily mean that someone else picked up where you left off. Simple example, is the old Five and Dime retailer went the way of the dodo bird... no one took his place.

Only a person who doesn't understand that the monetary pool is technically infinite, would believe that the rich keep taking, and don't rotate the bulk, right back in to the cash stream.

Dive into the world financials sometime. There are a few surprises for you. :)

sure, that is the way it works, the poor are not really getting poorer and the rich are not really getting richer.... it just seems that way - lol, who you trying to convince with that story?

what you say is how it's supposed to work... but that is not the way it's working now

So the rich don't spend money, that doesn't feed the pool, so that more people are working, with wages going up.... yeah, ok.

And if wages aren't going up, then people aren't buying things, and GDP doesn't change, unemployment goes up, prices come down (inflation) and everybody is poor.

Not quite sure where in the country you are, but if that is what is happening around you, perhaps you need to consider a geographic change.

If their services are in high demand, they will get paid. Simple economics.

It's a mystery why cities run by Democrats experience rampant poverty and crime.

No but he was replaced by major chain stores for the most part. As far as restaurants are concerned, people still have to eat when they go out for the evening so there should always be a demand for that service.

No, they are not. They are working for the betterment of a core group of people and that's where it ends IMO.

What percentage of total tax revenue received by the government comes from "rich people"?

So instead of attempting to couch your statement in fluff, say what's really on your mind - orange man bad?

Do you know how much Trump paid people that worked for him in his various businesses? Do you know how many jobs Trump businesses employed? What percentage of the investment in Trumps business was 'at stake'?

Trump is actually not part of the current discussion, but not a one can go by without someone dragging him in as a justifiable cause, I guess, when nothing else works.

Not so much... I don't believe I could find what the dime store sold things for, for relatively the same price, and definitely not the same variety. WalMart MIGHT come close, but not at the same level.

When the economy, for any reason, is less than robust, full service dining is one of the first things cut from a personal budget. It gives an illusion that money is being saved. Expenditures, interestingly enough, revert to smaller, less individually expensive items, but are bought in more quantity.... repetitious satisfaction of the consumer craving. ;) We've all been convinced 'stuff' buys happiness.

To the Left that would seem to be living a rich person's lifestyle without having to put in the work.

I'd have to try to get that information from the IRS and given today's political climate It's unlikely they'd release that information to me.

Don't we all deserve vacations in Cancun while someone else pays for our necessities?

I think that is a fairly accurate statement; dinner out and movies generally take a hit if the economy sours on us.

One can't deny that the bog standard leftist version of socialism/Marxism would be a sweet life . . . except that the defunct Soviet Union and the 'failed to remain Communist' China, Venezuela, and Cuba have all proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that the leftist Utopia does not work.
