Texas Judge Strikes Down Obama’s Affordable Care Act as Unconstitutional

In a more basic sense, what's the point of being a "good citizen" if you're going to be kicked to the curb if you have a medical disaster ? An advanced nation like the United States should take care of it's sick and elderly. Even if it's not a medical disaster, why should health care be such a burden ? (and it has evolved into a burden given the fact that it is mostly a for-profit industry)

For those who did have pre-existing conditions with no insurance prior to ACA, they could still get Government supplied Pre-Existing Condition Insurance. That is what happened to me. My employers insurance would not cover my pre-existing condition aka Diabetes. So, I applied and got Government Insurance through health.gov. I had a $500 deductable with $25 co-pays for only $200 per month. The day ACA went into law, I was forced to pay $350 per month for $6k deductable with $75 co-pays which were limited co-pays. Most people with Pre-Existing conditions were just not informed of government insurance plans pre-ACA.

 

I have that same idea about trumpettes.

Wrong. All forms of insurance are a type of shared risk. And almost all employer based health insurance already involves paying for pre-existing conditions.

 

Only government insurance starts with a gun. Free market insurance begins with a voluntary contract.

 

Really. I suggest you study philosophy and economics, and learn the difference between a contract and a gun. Fool.
