I have a minor in both. Government regulation is not a gun, and only an extreme right wing fool would see otherwise. There is no truly "free" market. Especially in the insirance industry. Very single state has their own insurance regulations. The door on that was opened decades before the ACA.

It's simple: liberty to care for your own health, or slavery to care for other's health.

This is what I am talking about; Government healthcare is immoral because it's slavery:
Slavery: Force to work for the sake of others.

Ayn Rand: "Poverty is not a mortgage on the labor of others — misfortune is not a mortgage on achievement — failure is not a mortgage on success — suffering is not a claim check, and its relief is not the goal of existence — man is not a sacrificial animal on anyone’s altar nor for anyone’s cause — life is not one huge hospital.

Well, this isn't a direct correlation to Obamacare, it is one of the infinite problems that arise from government interference in the marketplace, be it health insurance or health care.
The main point I want to stress in this article is how unimportant any individual want or need is as long as it's done in the name of the public good. This is only the tip of the iceberg of the hell government insurance causes.

No I read it. Just tend to think it's conclusion that allowing insurance companies to sell across state lines is just going to allow the insurance companies to cherry pick the insured even more than they already do. Couple that with the Republican effort to end protection for pre existing conditions and you have an even less functional system than you do now. Higher profits for insurance companies and less people bring insured will be the result along with possibly a small rate reduction fir the young and healthy and a massive increase for older sicker Americans.

And one thing for sure the move will in no way reduce the almost 18% of the GDP that the nation spends on healthcare which is far and away the biggest percentage in the developed world.

    I'm talking about you, specifically.

You want me to wash your car for you too?

Nope. Just those who wish to use the government's gun to steal the wealth of the productive.

Health insurance: A service provided by private enterprise to cover major accidents and diseases; not an entitlement for every scrape, cut, bruise, cough, running nose, stubbed toe, hangnail, sneezes, etc, and which is enforced by the government's gun.

So you do believe: poverty is a mortgage on the labor of others--that misfortune entitles you to someone else's good fortune--that your failures of life must be compensated by looting the creations of the overachievers--that your pain, tears, puss, and blood, give you the right to force me to bandage them, dry them, soak them up, and spill mine---that your neighbor is yours to sacrifice to your life and choices--that life is one huge hospital full of emergencies, and therefore the living must be enslaved to the misery of the sick and dying.

And you're calling Ayn Rand the idiot, and those who agree with her, morons. Such is the nature of your soul. What a pity.

Much in the same way as those who disagree with Thomas Jefferson's Declaration of Independence are tyrant wannabes. Who feels sorry for whom? Me for you.

If they have to pay for their own daily healthcare, how are they gonna afford a new pair of Jordan's and a Carnival cruize?

Wrong. Your defintion is far too narrow. From Investopedia.com: Health insurance is a type of insurance coverage that pays for medical and surgical expenses incurred by the insured. Health insurance can reimburse the insured for expenses incurred from illness or injury, or pay the care provider directly.

So you couldn't get insurance on your own and had to go to the government plans? Got to be rather sad for a person who preaches self reliance.

Well then be your own man and pay for your own healthcare and stop whining. Nobody is stopping you! And do the decent thing and die when you cannot afford to pay for a major health crisis.

Sure, it just costs a **** ton more.
Insurance covers risk. Paying for everyday health maintenance is not covering risk.
Sure you can have a policy, you're just gonna pre pay for your care. It ain't magic faries raining down magic money
