Sure, Trump has never shown caring and generosity to Americans and only republicans hire illegals.

I think I'll just keep posting this wherever it seems appropriate:

The federal government manages 57 percent of the forests in California, according to the Legislative Analyst's Office. The state manages 2 percent. Private owners are responsible for 39 percent.

Whatever the cost, when will (warning - dirty word coming) regulations require effective building codes for hurricane zones? No house in Florida should EVER be allowed to be built as wood frame.

I’m experienced with the clean up after Hurricanes and supposed to be getting sent to California for the fire clean up.

Can’t give you a dollar amount since most the amounts are listed in total damages not just what FEMA pays. Can easily say however that hurricanes are far more costly to tax payers.

The Camp fire with between 4-8 million tons of debris to be hauled out is by far the most I’m aware of from a fire. Compared to major hurricanes with far more locations impacted per event. It won’t break in the top 10 for total clean up cost IMO.

Since the counties have already been declared disaster areas. I don’t think Trump can withhold the federal reimbursements. The way it normal works is applicants(state, county, or cities) pays for their clean up. Then FEMA reimburses 75% of that after insuring debris was removed according to FEMA guidelines. The Stafford act is the law that applies to disaster clean up.

Florida already has very strict building codes for coastal counties and beachfront. Wood frame homes must meet the same building codes (wind requirements, etc.) as concrete homes. There are plenty of wood frame homes which have withstood hurricane after hurricane.

I love real estate and I was curious, look at this wood frame beachfront home, built in 1870: https://www.realtor.com/realestatea..._FL_32169_M50066-62783?ex=FL640288270&view=qv
    Here's another (89 years old, frame) https://www.realtor.com/realestatea..._FL_33483_M54041-85927?ex=FL649933378&view=qv
These are both wood frame homes on the ocean.

You could maybe have a case for discouraging wood frame homes on the ocean, but certainly not ALL of Florida. Do you realize how many historic homes in Florida are frame, from Key West to St. Augustine?

Of course. That's a silly question.... Do you admit who you voted for?

I even admit I voted for Obama in 2008. Now that is a vote I'm ashamed of, but I still admit it.

Why should the federal government bailout the private landowners and make them not suffer? Don't they have insurance? The federal government doesn't cover my loses from hurricanes I did not cause.

After Katrina and Ivan my insurance denied me coverage. Another company picked it up but I have a special rider with Lloyd's of London for wind damage which cost me 4 times what my other coverage cost. The federal government is bailing me out or paying for my coverage.

So the folks that live in hurricane zones are responsible for hurricanes? Everyone knows why the spiteful little obnoxious hateful child Trump chose to do this so stop the nonsense.
