Quite the difference than blockading the Russians. So in truth.....the Turks didn't close the straits to the Russians. If they would have, this would have been Breaking News all around.

Moreover it is like Ronstar and Fallen stated. Putin would have been speaking out on this.

I believe Moscow gave a warning to Turkey because everyday that a Russian ship is delayed, can cost the shipping company tens of thousands of dollars. I should think by now when Putin speaks, people will listen...so we will have to wait and see what happens.

If Erdogan continues the harassment, Putin's only alternative might be war ...so he will bide his time before resorting to something as drastic as that.. But don't doubt for one minute that if worse comes to worse, that he will not go to war. Russia has Turkey surrounded on all sides..

So now we know that the OP is 100% false.

the Straits are not closed to Russian vessels.

they are getting through, maybe with a few delays.

    big deal.

Russia earlier, before a plane shoot, asked Turkey, we are ready to consider any your interests, including not to attack ethnic Turks. And it really were work. Russia and Turkey had a direct link. Any questions could be settled. But Turkey, for the unclear reasons for all, didn't use this direct link - hit the Russian plane.

If to assume, Turkey, shot down the American plane with the American pilot, is similar with Russian. The USA would begin war with Turkey of 100% and crushed this country as Iraq

It will mean declaration of war of Turkey to Russia. The straits is under the international law... And as one former Soviet leader told, we can broaden these straits in 5 minutes, having dropped some atomic bombs there...

Gas to Turkey probably will be disconnected. 50 - 60 % of the Turkish industry use the Russian gas.(also Russia can put the good weapon for the Kurds...)

Last time I checked the US Government was not formed by only NYC congressmen and senators, yet that % would have been too extreme even for NY as a state.

I do enjoy your sarcasm.

But I also deplore your knowledge base and wilful desire not to deal with historical reality.

But hey, for this forum, one out of two 'ain't' that bad.

The straits are still open. Turkey can close it if necessary. Turkish Navy would not allow any Russian Greek or Israel actions in Agean and Mediterranean.
This is why Greeks and Israelis want to make natural gas drilling in Mediterranean since months but Turkish Navy coming on the scene and they are running away.

Hi goody, I would like to ask you about the situation in Turkey? I mean, how the people react, what they think, say and so on. In russian internet I've read a lot of posts explaining how the "propaganda against Russia" was rolled out by turkish government.

Could you share with us your opinion (or information you've got) about it?
    Thanks

Are you kidding ? Turkish media almost has no propaganda news. They only talk about the stupidity of Russian media. There is no propaganda against Russian in Turkish channels. I still cant believe Russian officials are such childish and stupid.

Putin will go to Turkey and apologize to Turkey. Some Turkish businessmen are much more stronger than Putin.

I think, you are wrong! They're in touch with a situation (I mean russian officials). And now it's nothing but "replacement of subject of hatred".

The situation in Russia, as such, is not getting better. Most of the people have started to understand that the reality looks a bit different in comparisson with TV reports and government statements. And (what more important) they gueses (some of them know for sure) WHY it happens. Many of them understand, that not " the enemies" have to be blamed for today's situation but own government.
It begun long befor Crimea. The economy declined, despite of high oil-prices. Why? Very good and at the same time very dangerous (for government) question.
To distract the people, to keep the power, Mr. Putin & Co. needed something global. And they found the solution.
Ukraine, Crimea, sanktions, Syria, Turkey - just the "Links of chain". The point is - what's next?

Thank you very much for your kind question.

First of all, I need to mention the facts about the political situation in Turkey. The same political party has been ruling the country for almost 14 years now. Ever since the beginning of their power there has been a major "opposition" which dropped down around 50% from solid 60% levels. This is crucial because what I do believe is the more the opposition remains around 50% the less the possibility of the current "multi-party" systems functions. I don't discuss the elections and their credibility, that's a subject of a different topic but I do believe this is the major reason why this government has found, still is finding and will always be finding so much support within and outside the country. What I try to say has a lot to do with the Arab spring, its results and what's to be done next in Syria.

How? As you know most of Middle Eastern and North African countries, unlike Turkey, have either Kingdoms or Single party rules. As president Bush clearly stated in his speech in Istanbul, in 2004, Turkey was given a role to be the model for the "Greater Middle East Project". So that, President Erdogan has mentioned many times that he was the "Co-President" of the "Greater Middle East Project". What is the Greater Middle East Project? Unlike many think, it actually is for integrating Middle East and N.Africa with not only to the western world but to adapt them to the globalist agendas. How can they do it? By bringing them together under mutual socio-cultural and economical umbrella. To do that, a model should be determined which is close enough to both west and east (yep, Turkey). Then this model should be ruled by such a government who unquestioningly complies with the west as the west is the light bearer(like the liberty statute) in the path of the globalism. Then, it is time to change the Arap world while Turkey gets modified with subtle and soft political changes as the west directed. That not only explains the shift in Turkish foreign politics but as well do explain the change in the Arab world is no independent from the change in Turkey.

So on one hand you are changing the Turkey's politics by eliminating its "opposition" and "nationalist groups" (by alleged suicides of some high ranked military officers and military tech workers, by blackmailing military and prominent opposition leaders, by literally killing them, and by imprisoning them all with thousands of pages of false evidences) who have the most potential when it comes to stand against the change that was about to come forth in the country's political orbit and the regime structure. On the other hand you got bunch of nations don't even have multiparty parliaments, still being ruled by Kings, have large populations full of unregistered, living in rural, far away from the authority elements like big tribal families, such as Bedouins, Kurds, Ezidis, etc. You have countries mostly not urbanized which you cannot even consider to have when you try to integrate them with the west. So you put in play the game of war against terror with the help of the terror organizations whose leaders been working no less than subcontractors to you. Then you bomb the hell out these unwanted elements while showing the world you were there for democracy (this will turn out to be true soon) and while overthrowing the single party governments. So we are being through this sort of change period while Middle East is becoming the "Greater Middle East".

What is Russia doing? Let me tell you how I see it: Russia is there in full accordance with the west I believe. The change for globalist agendas are not just suggested for Turkey and the region. I know you'd remember what Obama's motto if I'd asked before and during the elections: "Change". The very same motto has long been used by other leaders in different countries, like Turkey. The government has been talking about change ever since they were in power and a lot of things has changed. So this is a "global change" and it has a lot to do with "multi-polarity" as well.

Why would they want multi-polarity? Because bi-polarity or as it was in 90's Hyperpower (USA) rule, is against the "Orwellianist" agendas. So who are multi-polarity's powers and how they are going to be? One country with a potential of rise should be given hand for rise, in "each continental regions". For example; China in East Asia, Russia in Eurasia, Turkey in Middle East/N.Africa, Brazil in S. America, Germany in Europe, South Africa in Africa, Australia in Oceania and America in N.America. First, America had to be leveled with Europe a bit in socio-economical wise, which was started with the American decline in 2008. Then Germany's, Brazil's Turkey's, Russia's and China's rise followed (not respectively). 2008 was the year the government in Turkey started that political war I mentioned above against the nationalists and the opposition btw.

So back to why Russia is there question, because one of the other multi-polar world's power Turkey is there and a tension would really help to draw perceptual lines in the minds of billions that both are considerably "equal". It doesn't matter if Russia as a fact a lot stronger than Turkey, or it can destroy it by just one push of a button. What matters is that Russia allowed Turkey to shoot down its plane because it is in full accordance with the globalist agenda which suggests Turkey must be perceived as one of the key players, powers of the "multi-polar world". So whatever contributing to this perception is helpful and I believe Russia just helped to build that perception.

I do not believe Russia, to me the birthplace of the most greatest minds in the history of modern civilization like Trotsky, Tolstoy, Kasparov, Karpov, etc, etc, can be that dumb to allow a tension rise without a reason. What Turkish public thinks actually does not concern me that much but I can tell you that there is no fear among the citizens as they are used to this type of tensions with other neighboring countries. There was much greater tension with Greece for a long time which ended with a Turkish military invasion of Cyprus in 1974. When you ask people in here what they think is going to happen with Russians, they tell you "hic farketmez" meaning "don't matter at all" implying whatever happens, they will be going for it. They don't want war when asked if they wanted, but they say if it comes to that, it wouldn't matter at all. Turks are generally like this. One guy in here says he will go to front the next day when I asked him what he thought. I asked about his kids, he says this is "vatan (motherland), the most important thing". Some blame Turkish government, some just watching news, don't have no opinion. I'm sure there are tons of Russians like Turks out there too.

Lastly I involved in a small car accident the other day. The driver of the car I hit was a Russian lady. She got out and started yelling to the pedestrian jay walking across the street. She was telling me it was that lady made her stopped suddenly. She was so funny and showed a very good character because I was the one who hit her car no matter what and she didn't even blame me. That's why we will never have problems with Russians living in here. They do work hard, adapt easy, pick the language so fast, loving this country, smart, good people. That's how I and tons of others around me see them.
