No, it’s not. Every presidential candidate since Nixon has publicly released their tax returns, as a gesture of transparency. Of course, Bonespurs J. Jackass is refusing to disclose his returns because he has something to hide, is opposed to his own transparency and wants to be a whiny bitch of a victim.

The traitor claimed to be the most honest and transparent of all presidents. Recall that you right wingers used to criticize Obama for lacking transparency. How does it feel to have the tables turned (again)?

The applicable statute clearly states that the chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee is empowered to request any tax return, provided he ensures the privacy of the return. He cannot make them public. There is no "cause" required under the law.

If Trump feels there are things he needs to hide, despite his promise to release them, he will persist in hiding them.

Yes. You are targeting Trump with this law. My question is whether or not this sets a bad precedent for other states targeting future candidates with similar laws. I think it does.

If you succeed in getting him denied access to the ballot in a number of states do you think that it will harm national unity and damage faith in democracy?

I do. You will turn Trump from a whiny victim into a genuine martyr for a large segment of the population. Why don't you just try to win the election fair and square?

Trump is full of schitt as is anyone who believes his BS. Tax returns are private property, not the property of the government. He can disclose his copy at any time without being enjoined by the IRS. As a former IRS agent I know that better than anyone. The guy is a total liar.

If that is the case, you should definitely vote against him.

There was no crime at the time, open carry was legal in California at the time.

The Black Panthers abused their rights when they stormed the State Capital with loaded rifles and shotguns.

When the Democrats in particular the DNC allowed China to import hundreds of thousands of cheap Chi-Com AK-47's into America in exchange for campaign contributions the Crips and Bloods unable to afford AR's bought AK's and started shooting each other in drive bys.

The response in California by Democrats was the beginning of labeling black scary looking rifles as assault weapons.

Black thugs abuse their Second Amendment rights and all law abiding citizens are punished.

Look....no. If it were simply the case (which again, it IS NOT) that states were trying to prevent votes from going to Trump, then no. Our democracy is not strengthened.
But again, you are setting a pretense that doesn't exist. For Donald Trump to be on the Illinois ballot, all he has to do is release his tax returns, JUST LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE.

You are making it seem like such an abominable feat, one that Donald Trump will NEVER be able to navigate. Perhaps there is good reason for that...

It's not "targeting" him when he's the only one not conforming to norms of transparency. He's the one causing the issue.

    He's a whiny pretend victim.

And what if he doesn't release his taxes and is denied ballot access? The state law then inhibits votes going to Trump. Our democracy will be damaged, perhaps fatally. You are playing chicken with our system of government.

    Is it worth the risk?

And the fact that he is the only one not conforming is exactly why it is targeting him.

You should try to step outside your little bubble and imagine how it looks to other people.

Baloney. The BPs were exercising their Constitutional rights. It was Reagan who betrayed the Constitution by enacting an illegal law.

Is gerry rigging districts a cynical manipulation of the ballot?

News anchor: Good evening. Tonight we are sitting in with the newest presidential candidate for the 2020 election. Thank you for coming in, Sir.
    Candidate: I'm not a "sir."
News anchor: I'm so sorry, Ma'am.
    Candidate: I'm not a "Ma'am."
News anchor: Please forgive me. What pronoun do you prefer?
    Candidate: That's private.
News anchor: Well....let's begin then. First off, can you tell us who you are?
Candidate: I would, but that's private.
News anchor: I see. Well, what issues are you running on?
    Candidate: Hmm. That's kinda private.
News anchor: Can you just tell us what party you are running for?
Candidate: That's kinda personal, don't you think?
News anchor: I guess I was being inconsiderate. So, where are you from?
Candidate: Please tell me you did not just ask me that. Way out of bounds.
News anchor: Ok, I didn't just ask you that then. Can you tell us why you are so interested in running for president?
Candidate: I can tell you that is so none of your business.

No, it is a time honored American tradition. And a valuable one at that. It provides continuity of leadership and is used by all majority parties.

Glad to see you recognised that open carry is a legal Constitutional right.

What is most astounding is that those who are arguing Trump should not release his tax returns were also those who for eight years called for Obama to release his birth certificate, and STILL do not believe it
